Collagen has eighteen different amino acids in it s structure. Collagen hydrolyzate contains high amounts of important amino acids such as glycine and proline compared to other proteins.

Collagen is broken down into amino acids by the collagen enzyme in the body. This prevents collagen from having positive effects on the skin and connective tissues. Antioxidants (especially vitamin C) prevent this negative effect by inhibiting the collagen enzyme. When collagen hydrolyzate is enriched with antioxidant-rich product groups or consumed together, its effectiveness increases.

Collagen hydrolyzate, on the other hand, is a water-soluble protein hydrolyzate formed as a result of the breakdown of collagen protein by enzymatic or acidic hydrolysis. Collagen hydrolyzate, also known as collagen peptide, contains a high proportion of type I and type II collagen. The molecular weight of collagen is in the range of 2000-5000 daltons on average.
